Introduction to the Business Analyst Desktop installation guide

Available with Business Analyst license.

This installation guide is your resource for information on prerequisites, installation, and authorization of your software and data. Business Analyst Desktop 10.6.1 follows a standard maintenance cycle and will continue to be enhanced and expanded. For major releases, new complete software setups are provided through the My Esri web site, while updates are provided on the Esri Support Site.

As a customer of ArcGIS Business Analyst Desktop, you also get a license to access the Business Analyst web app. If you haven’t already done so, create an Esri Account user name and provide it to your customer service representative, so your subscription can be set up.

The Tapestry Segmentation data is included at the block group geography level. See Esri Data for more details on the data that is installed.

ArcGIS Online Subscription - All licensees of Business Analyst - either Basic or Standard - are entitled to a Business Analyst web app subscription with 10,000 credits to be used with the ArcGIS Desktop ArcGIS Online entitlement for one user.

64-bit Background Geoprocessing

Business Analyst Background Geoprocessing (64-bit) product replaces the regular 32-bit background processing which comes standard. Using 64-bit processing, to perform analysis on systems with large amounts of RAM, will help when processing large amounts of data which may have otherwise failed in a 32-bit environment. Since all execution is done in the native 64-bit space, more system resources can be used.

Background Geoprocessing (64-bit) is a separate installation. If you have a 64-bit machine and attempt a 32-bit Business Analyst install you will be prompted to install the 64-bit version.
