Installation recommendations
- It is recommended that you load all the Business Analyst data components to your local hard drive, which will require approximately 260 GB of disk space. Installing the data components to a network will result in slower performance.
- Although it is not a requirement for installing and working with Business Analyst, please note that you must have Adobe Acrobat to output Business Analyst reports in PDF formats.
- The recommended order of install is to run the software first, then run the data portion.

Note:
A minimum of Business Analyst 10.6.1 or newer versions are required to install the 2023 U.S. Data Update. Business Analyst 10.6 or earlier versions are not supported.

Screen resolution: 1024x768 recommend or higher at normal size (96dpi)
Video/Graphics adapter: Check your computer's ability to run ArcGIS. 64 MB RAM minimum, 256 MB RAM or higher recommended. NVIDIA, ATI, and Intel chipsets supported, 24-bit capable graphics accelerator, OpenGL version 2.0 runtime minimum is required, and Shader Model 3.0 or higher is recommended. Be sure to use the latest available driver.
Networking hardware: Simple TCP/IP, Network Card or Microsoft Loopback Adapter is required for the License Manger.
Media player: In addition to the My Esri download option, a USB media drive containing the install setups can be ordered from Customer Service using the Request Physical Media feature in My Esri.
Microsoft .NET Framework requirement
.NET Framework 4.5.2 or later must be installed prior to installing ArcGIS Desktop.
Python requirement for Geoprocessing
ArcGIS Desktop geoprocessing tools require Python 2.7.18 and Numerical Python 1.16.6 to be installed. If the ArcGIS Desktop setup does not find either Python 2.7.18 or Numerical Python (NumPy) 1.16.6 installed on the target computer, Python 2.7.18 and Numerical Python 1.16.6 will be installed during a complete installation of ArcGIS Desktop.
Note:
You can choose a Custom installation to unselect the Python feature and avoid installing it. Additionally, if the Python setup is executed during the ArcGIS Desktop installation, you will be provided with the opportunity to choose its installation location. The Python installation location should not include spaces.
