Apply a spatial filter in a scene

You can apply spatial filters to 3D object and point scene layers in Layer properties. For example, you can hide buildings and trees within a drawn polygon or select a single building to hide and replace it with a BIM model.

Under Spatial filters, click Configure spatial filters to create spatial filters.

Filter by a polygon

You can draw a polygon around features to exclude or include in a scene.

To filter by drawing a polygon, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Draw polygons Draw polygons, and do the following:
    1. Click a location in the scene to start drawing a polygon and click to add points.
    2. To finish the polygon, click the first vertex, and double-click or press Enter.

You can draw more polygons to add to the spatial filter.

  2. Optionally, click Edit polygon Edit polygon, and do the following to edit the polygon:
    1. Use the interactive handles to resize, rotate, or move the feature horizontally and vertically.
    2. Click the polygon again to move individual vertices to reshape the polygon.

You can also drag vertices in the middle of a segment to add vertices. This allows you to further reshape the polygon.

    3. Click again to use the interactive handles.
  3. For Mode, include or exclude the features in the polygon by doing one of the following:
    • Click exclude to exclude the features inside the polygon.
    • Click include to include only the features inside the polygon.
  4. Optionally, click Clear spatial filters to reset the filters.
  5. Click Done to apply the spatial filter and return to the layer properties pane.

Filter by a selection

You can select features individually to exclude them from the scene.

To filter by a selection, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Select features Select filter to select features.

Each object you select is added to the selected features. Click a feature to unselect it.

  2. Optionally, click Clear spatial filters to reset the filters.
  3. Click Done to hide the selected features in the view and return to the layer properties pane.
