System requirements

The ArcGIS app requires certain device requirements to run, as well as having requirements on the data that is used within the app. The ArcGIS app is supported in a number of languages.

Data requirements

To use your data in the ArcGIS app, you must use ArcGIS.com or Portal for ArcGIS to create a map. In your map, use services from ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 or later.

Device requirements

Android

  • Android 2.3.3 or later
  • If using Android emulator: 4.0.3 system image with hardware acceleration
  • ARMv6 or ARMv7 processor
  • Hardware support for OpenGL ES 2.0
  • Recommended:
    • ARMv7 processor
    • 1 GHz processor
    • 512 MB of RAM
    • Screen resolution of 800x480
    • Hardware based (not software emulated) OpenGL ES 2.0 support
    • GPS
    • Camera
  • Unsupported device: HTC Mytouch 3G

iOS

  • iOS 5 or later
  • Supports: iPhone 3GS and later, iPad, iPod touch

Windows Phone

  • Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) or later

Supported languages

Arabic (), Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian (), French, German, Hebrew (), Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian (), Lithuanian (), Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian (), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and Swedish.

The language used by the app is determined by your device's language setting.

Version 10.1.2 was released in September 2013, including:

  • Expanded support for scale dependency on layers
  • Support for overriding editing in the map
  • Support for layer filters in the map
  • New layer support: WMS, OpenStreetMap
  • Support for layers from federated ArcGIS Servers
